Christmas is coming up soon and since nobody has to go to school when it is christmas, you will have to find something else to do. And what else then some good christmas movies will make you happy on a cold winterday? I have made a list for you girls so you can choose a your favourite movie to see. And if you’ve already seen all of them you can vote on your favourite movie on this list! Have fun watching the movies!
#1 Home Alone
Home Alone is a story about an 8-year old boy named Kevin. He is the youngest of five and his brothers and sister bullie him all the time. After another fight between Kevin and his family, he wishes for a new family. His mother warns him to be careful what he wishes for. He wakes up the next day to discover he is the only one left in the house! Kevin thinks his wish has come true and that he is finally alone without his annoying family around. But in reality, his family forgot to take him with them to Paris for a family vacation! While his parents realize their mistake and trie their best to get back to the US, a pair of thieves are trying to break into the house of Kevin and his family! But Kevin isn’t really scared of them and holds them back with a nice collection of booby traps.
I really love this movie, I think its my personal favourite!
#2 The Polar Express
On a christmas evening a little boy tries to fall asleep. But suddenly he hears the sound of a train! When he steps out of the house to take a look he finds a huge train, with the name The Polar Express. A conductor¬† invites him to hop on the train and go for a ride. In the train there is already a larger group of children. Together they go on an incredible journey to the north pole where they will meet Santa!
#3 The Nightmare Before Christmas
Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. One day he stumbles into Christmas Town, and is so taken with the idea of Christmas that he tries to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween — but alas, they can’t get it quite right.
#4 How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Inside a snowflake exists the magical land of Whoville. In Whoville, live the Who’s, an almost mutated sort of munchkinlike people. All the Who’s love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try befriend the Grinch.
#5 The Santa Clause
A father and his son ar fast asleep until they hear something stumble on their roof. They go outside to see what is happening and there they see a man on their roof! So the father starts to yell, which makes the person on the roof lose his balance and fall off the roof. Then the boy and his father find out that it was Santa Claus on their roof, and they have just killed him! But magically, the body dissapears, leaving only the suit. They find a business card in a pocket stating that if something should happen to him, someone should put on the suit, and the reindeer will know what to do. They find a sleigh and eight reindeer perched atop the house. Scott puts on the Santa suit to please Charlie, and begins delivering toys from rooftop to rooftop. When he is finished delivering, the reindeer head north and take Scott with them. And once he arrived at the pole, he finds out that he has to be the new Santa!
Buddy was a baby in an orphanage who stowed away in Santa’s sack and ended up at the North Pole. Later, as an adult human who happened to be raised by elves, Santa allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs. Hobbs, on Santa’s naughty list for being a heartless jerk, had no idea that Buddy was even born. Buddy, meanwhile, experiences the delights of New York City (and human culture) as only an elf can. When Walter’s relationship with Buddy interferes with his job, he is forced to reevaluate his priorities.
#7 A Christmas Carol
Miser Ebenezer Scrooge is awakened on Christmas Eve by spirits who reveal to him his own miserable existence, what opportunities he wasted in his youth, his current cruelties, and the dire fate that awaits him if he does not change his ways. Scrooge is faced with his own story of growing bitterness and meanness, and must decide what his own future will hold: death or redemption.
This one is a remake, the story has been filmed before in 1984 and 1938, but this is the animated version of the story, much more up to date.
#8 Fred Claus
During childhood, Fred Claus suffered his younger brother Nick’s saintliness. Jump ahead: Fred is a fast-talking, genial but self-centered guy in Chicago looking for $50,000 to open an off-track-betting shop. When one scam goes awry, he calls Nick at the North Pole for a loan: Nick will give him the money only if Fred comes up to help a few days with the Christmas rush. After his girlfriend dumps him, Fred heads north. Santa’s facing an audit from an efficiency expert, and it’s not pleasant. Fred’s job is to review charts and determine who’s naughty and who’s nice. Is there any fraternal feeling left, can either learn from the other, and what about Santa getting fired?
#9 A Christmas Story
Ralphie, a young boy growing up in the ’40’s, dreams of owning a Red Rider BB gun. He sets out to convince the world this is the perfect gift. But along the way, he runs into opposition from his parents, his teacher, and even good ‘ol Santa Claus himself.
#10 Love Actually
This is a story about love. The characters are falling in love, falling out of love, some are with right people, some are with the wrong people, some are looking to have an affair and some are in the period of mourning. Love begins and love ends. They flirt a lot. They are all flirting with love. At all ages and social levels, love is the theme. Romantic love and brotherly love is the hotchpotch through out the movie. So if you are looking for a story about love, you have to see this movie!
