Love to sunbath? Take care!

Isn’t is great that the sun is shining and that it is lovely weather outside? The ideal circumstances to take a swim or lay on the beach with friends. And of course, we all want to get a nice tan ;). But be careful. Even though, some sunshine is good for your skin (for it causes the production of vitamin B, which is good for strong bones and teeth), but too much most certainly is not. In fact, it can even be dangerous. Thus I have three tips for ‘safe sunbathing’.

1. Protection

Never go sunbathing or do some activity in the sun without using sun lotion (with the right sun protection factor). Some people believe that a higher SPF means that you won’t get a nice tan, but that is not true. You will also get a nice tan, but simply have better protection. Apply the lotion every two hours and after you took a swim and rubbed down, for the towel will absorb the lotion.

2. Timing

Take it slow. Give your skin the opportunity to get used to the sun after a long winter without. And try to avoid sunbathing between 12 o’clock and 15 o’clock since the sun is¬†most¬†harmful during those hours.

3. Take Care Afterwards

Not only when you are sun-burnt, but also to make sure your tan lasts longer, use after-sun. However, when you are badly sun-burnt you might need to ask some professional advice.

Enjoy the sun, but simply be a little careful ;).
