Clear Skin: 6 Professional Skincare Tips

During your teen years you’re likely to get some pimples. And nobody likes pimples…

The reason you get all of those pimples is because of your hormones, they increase sebum production, making the cells that line your pores sticky, which in turn clog them so that oil can’t escape. When oil gets backed up, your pore develops a pimple.

Lots of people try to get rid of these pimples by squeezing them, but that won’t help you. It’ll only make them more obvious to spot! So, I’ve found some tips for you that can help you with your skincare!

Tip 1:
Keep your face clean!
When you play a sport that requires you to wear a helmet or pads, the trapped sweat and dirt can trigger breakouts. So it is really important to wash your face as soon as possible after workouts!

Tip 2:
Don’t be lazy!
If you buy products that tell you they will help, use them regularly! It is very important to do so, because when you fall asleep with your makeup on can cause immediate breakouts! You should also treat your skin to the occasional scrub or peel. That will get rid of dead skin cells that clutter your pores. But start mild and increase frequency once you know what your skin is able to handle.

Tip 3:
Keep products basic
Skin needs to be able to breathe. That means that you shouldn’t put too much foundation and stuff, because that will only clutter up your pores, and that will give you major breakouts. Also use moisturizers with salicylic acid, they hydrate as they unclog pores and gently exfoliate skin.
It is a myth that drying out a zit will make it go away; it will most likely even make it worse and slow down recovery!

Tip 4:
Never be picky
Don’t ever attack your pimples with needles, pens and tweezers or any other crazy tools! They will give you scars that can take months, if not years, to heal! And what is worse, a pimple that most likely will be gone within a week, or a scar that doesn’t heal within months or years. I choose the pimple, that’s for sure!

Tip 5:
Think big picture
A healthy skin starts from the inside out. You should eat a diet rich in good fats. Good fats are found in foods like salmon, avocado, nuts, and olive oil; they will provide a soft, supple, and acne-free face. Foods like fries or white bread, with a lot of sugar in it, can give you even more problems. Also remember to get enough sleep, at least 8 hours every night!

Tip 6:
Always shield your skin
Don’t ever leave your house without sunscreen! Use at least SPF 30 to protect against age spots and skin dehydration. And don’t think that being in the sun will make your acne go away, because the bacteria that causes acne loves the sun and sweat. The sun only ‘ripens’ the breakout and makes it worse!

I hope you can use all of these tips!
