The end of 2011 is near – seriously, there’s less than a month to go! But luckily, there’s just enough time left for us to recap the biggest moments of the year for some of your favorite celebs, new and old. 1. Starring in Monte Carlo

Sel filmed Monte Carlo in May 2010 until July 2010 where she was on location in beautiful cities like Paris and Monte Carlo. This romantic comedy was a big hit this summer and it definitely showed off Sel’s superb acting chops as both a sweet, small-town southern girl and as a wealthy, cruel British heiress (Go Sel!).

2. Headlining Her First Tour – We Own The Night Tour

Sel really developed musically this year with great hits like “Who Says” and “Hit the Lights.” In support of her latest album, When the Sun Goes Down, Sel took to the road across the United States and Canada, playing 49 shows total! She totally went all out for this tour with lots of glitter, feathers and dancers. Did you get a chance to see Sel live this year?

3. Hosting the VMA Pre-Show and the EMA Award Show

Sel was given the opportunity to host two major events this year. She said it was an honor to host the VMA Pre-Show because she grew up watching it. We think she did a stellar job on the black carpet! The other big event, hosting the EMAs, seemed like even more fun for Sel since she was able to make fun promos in support of it (like the one where her rapping alter ego faces off against her sweet self).

4. Wrapping Wizards of Waverly Place

It seems like only yesterday we were introduced to the Russo family’s wizard world! This show has been a huge stepping stone in Sel’s career. Plus, it has made some records in the Disney Channel family (it’s the second Disney Channel original series to reach 100 episodes and is the first to go over 100 episodes, with 106 total!).

5. Finding out She’s Becoming a Big Sister

Sel recently divulged some pretty big and exciting news with all her fans about her mom and stepdad expecting a baby. She’s totally stoked to become a big sister to a baby girl or boy. We’re sure she’ll be a wonderful sister; she’s had plenty of on screen practice on her hit Disney show after all.
